I have a vertical lines appearing in my scan. Is there anything I can do to get rid of that?

First, in Settings check to see if reduce lines and streaks is enabled in settings if not enable that. If that doesn't help check if anything is physically on the lens of the scanner. If there is nothing on the lens the next step would be to recalibrate the scanner using the black and white sheet that came with the scanner. Go to the settings section and hit the calibrate button. Follow the onscreen instructions and that should get rid of any line on the scans.
